23 September 2023: Exemplifying the true spirit of community and collaboration, two of Legacy Motor Group’s (LMG) dealerships recently partnered with a local cycling club and a group of university students to create an unforgettable event that truly celebrated South Africa’s bountiful scenery.
In partnership with the Soshanguve Cycling Club, BMW Montana and BMW Rustenburg teamed up to create a memorable day for cyclists that would satisfy their passion for the sport, while showcasing their vehicles as the perfect partner for outdoor adventures and creating an extraordinary experience for all involved.
With this in mind, the cyclists were invited to gather at BMW Montana first thing in the morning for a warm welcome complemented by a delicious breakfast and coffee, setting the tone for the day’s adventures. They were then introduced to a range of the latest vehicles from BMW that would be accompanying them on the road ahead, each of which was allocated to a specific driver and was equipped with essentials such as water to ensure participants’ comfort throughout their journeys.
Impressed by these vehicles’ luxury and functionality, the cyclists set off just as the clock neared 05:30, forming three distinct groups that were each carefully followed by their allocated vehicles.
Joining the drivers in the vehicles, physiotherapy students from Sefako Makgatho University (SMU) were also invited to come along for the ride to enhance the overall experience and safety of the cyclists and enjoy the day’s festivities.
Their journey took them through many scenic routes and memorable landscapes, making quick strategic stops at Krya Rona Complex and the world-famous Sun City along the way. Here, participants transitioned to BMW Rustenburg’s cars, refueled with snacks and meals, and engaged in professional recovery and rehabilitation sessions led by the physiotherapy students.
The next stop took place at BMW Rustenburg, where cyclists received additional nourishment and a final dedicated recovery and rehabilitation session, underscoring the event’s focus on holistic well-being. They were then lifted back to BMW Montana, where Corporate Sales Manager Gerhardus Dreyer concluded the fun-filled and highly successful day by expressing his heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to everyone involved, finishing the day on a positive and heartwarming note.
For the physiotherapy students, this event represented a truly transformative experience, allowing them to hone their skills in sports physiotherapy. Furthermore, the collaboration between the Soshanguve Cycling Club, SMU, BMW Montana, and BMW Rustenburg highlighted the importance of such initiatives in fostering lasting relationships between communities while demonstrating BMW’s automotive excellence.
This event undoubtedly marked the beginning of an enduring friendship between the various organisations, opening the door for many more exciting adventures and partnerships in the future.
